NEO TestNet Upgrade Notice

To all NEO users,

NEO Global Development has released the latest version of neo-cli, 2.10.0, and will now coordinate with all TestNet consensus node operators to upgrade to the new version on March 18th, 2019. The update is planned for 9:00-11:00 GMT, during which the TestNet may be unstable. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.

In accordance with the network upgrade guidelines, the new version will be used on TestNet for a period of at least two weeks. If it proves stable, the MainNet upgrade process will then begin.

The release includes some important improvements:

An updated version of NEO’s consensus mechanism that ensures that there will never be more than one block at the same height, resolving the single block fork issue that has previously caused peer nodes to become stuck.

It also includes a recovery strategy for consensus nodes that suffer from an array of network or local hardware faults, allowing them to re-synchronize with consensus without manual intervention. This should reduce block times during adverse network conditions.

  • Improved memory pool performance

These changes ensure increased stability and network performance when a high rate of low priority transactions enter the network and stay in the memory pool.

Additional details for the update can be found in the full changelog here.
