Dear Neo users,

Neo Global Development has released the latest version of neo-cli v2.12.0, which adjusted the free sys_fee GAS and MaxTransactionsPerBlock threshold. Also, bidding mode has been implemented for all transactions.

We will coordinate with all TestNet consensus node operators to perform the upgrade to from UTC 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM, September 16th, 2020. The TestNet might be temporarily unstable during this period. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Some important improvements included in this release are:

Significantly increased free sys_fee GAS threshold

With this update, the free sys_fee threshold will be increased from 10 GAS to 50 GAS, providing better support for more complicated smart contracts, in order to facilitate scalable development and use cases of smart contracts on Neo. 

MaxTransactionsPerBlock adjustment and bidding mode for all transactions

The maximum amount of transactions per block has been adjusted to 200 in this update, for both free and paid transactions.

Also, bidding mode has been introduced for all transactions. Under bidding mode, transactions with higher GAS paid will be processed with a higher priority.

The hard fork will occur at block height 484000, we urge all relevant parties to pay attention and perform the upgrade in advance.
